MISSION
JEDI began as a response to the cultural uprisings during the Summer of 2020. ICPEL wanted to go beyond crafting a statement and move to putting action-oriented steps to ensure social justice. As a result, the board created this committee with the following goals:

- ICPEL will expand recruitment and retention efforts of underrepresented and marginalized members to ICPEL, in order to expand perspectives, ideas and thoughts regarding educational leadership.
- ICPEL will support current members through programming intended to build on the knowledge and skills that surround teaching and learning for social justice and educational equity in the profession.
- ICPEL will also work to be a resource of education and information regarding understanding and dialogue around current educational issues that revolve around race, equity, inclusion and diversity.
- ICPEL will intentionally pursue advocacy around race, equity, inclusion and diversity in the United States and around the world.
